The Canada-Mongolia MERIT Project held its first Project Steering Committee (PSC) meeting today. The purpose of the PSC is to provide strategic direction, governance and oversight for the project. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Maroun Abou Fayssal, Senior Development Officer at Global Affairs Canada, and Ms. L. Tsedevsuren, Chairwoman of the Civil Service Council of Mongolia.
Key partners from the Civil Service Council, Cabinet Secretariat, National Commission on Gender Equality, National Human Rights Commission, National Academy of Governance, and the Governors of Darkhan-Uul, Dundgobi, Uvs, and a representative of the Governor from Sukhbaatar joined officials from Global Affairs Canada and the Embassy of Canada in Mongolia.
PSC members discussed and validated the Project’s Implementation Plan (2025–2030) and the Annual Work Plan (2025–2026), setting a solid foundation for an inclusive, merit-based, citizen-centered civil service that is accessible and responsive to the needs of citizens.
We thank all project partners for their valuable contributions and ongoing collaboration in achieving the project’s objectives. Together, we remain committed to strengthening Mongolia’s civil service reform.
