On September 23, 2025, at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Joseph Carney announced new funding to support progress on shared global priorities. September 23, 2025.
Canada launched the Innovative Leadership for Equitable and Accessible Democracy (i- LEAD) project with CatalystePlus—a $5.75 million investment over three years to support Mongolia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
i-LEAD project will:
- Advance equality and human rights, particularly for women and marginalized populations
- Strengthen inclusive, transparent, and accountable government services
- Promote Gender-responsive policies
- Enhance civic participation and leadership in decision-making
Canada reaffirms its commitment to building more inclusive, equitable, and democratic societies worldwide.
